It is recommended for uses where sensitization and later corrosion by high temperature gases or condensates may occur during closure. It can be welded using any standard technique, including submerged arc. This stabilised grade has been replaced for uses requiring only welding or short-term heating. When subjected to moderately corrosive conditions, it is not prone to weld decay (inter-granular rust).
