Components produced under specification ASTM B473, including nickel based alloy 20 must be furnished in any of the following conditions i.e. – solution-annealed condition, stabilized-annealed condition, or annealed condition. The specification requires that the material used to produce the ASTM B473 UNS N08020 Rod is to conform to a certain set of requirements.

In addition to the chemical composition prescribe, the Nickel Alloy 20 Threaded Rod is also to adhere to the specified requirements pertaining to the mechanical properties prescribed as well. The specification also makes provisions for the performance of both a chemical analysis and a tension test to be subjected to the Alloy 20 Round Bar. An austenitic stainless steel grade, the most attractive feature of this alloy is perhaps its resistance to sulfuric acid.

The use of sulfuric acid is common in several industries for the processing of raw materials. Hence, the DIN 2.4660 Hex bar is a common denominator applicable in industries such as petrochemical, power generation, chemical, as well as the plastics industry.
